Colmar is a place that surprises you as soon as you start walking in it! As we always suggests, just head downtown and get lost: you won’t regret it!
The colours, the beautiful architecture, the festive stalls selling any kind of stuff…we had such an amazing time in this lovely town!
Take your time to indulge along the streets, but do not forget to visit the covered market: you’ll find many foodie stops here!
One of them is Le Secret de Justin: don’t forget to taste one of their snacks…very good! Or during your walk, you could have a bretzel at Les Fameuses Bretzels de Colmar! We had one with ham and cheese…yummy!
Other foodie places not to miss are:
- Gilg: sensational macarons and incredible pastries, just look at the photos!!!)
- Les Tanneurs: this place has incredible tarte flambé for any taste! We had one with smoked salmon and one with knack and smoked sausage…delicious!
So…are you tempted? What are you waiting for? Colmar is your next place to visit!
We were lucky to stay in Colmar for three days last year, at the Hotel Marechal overlooking the canal. It was gorgeous!
Yes, it’s magical! Especially during Christmas time 🤩
Thanks for sharing. We live in Switzerland near the border with the Alsace and love going into Colmar for lunch and shopping. Great Michelin restaurant there too – JYS. I have just started a poetry blog here on WordPress in case you have time to have a look? Have a good afternoon 🙂
You’re so lucky to be that close! Of course we will stop by your blog, thanks for inviting us! Happy blogging! Alessia
Thanks Alessia!
So colourful! Like in a fairy tale!
That’s the first thing that impressed us too! 🙂
Beautifully done!
Thank you! 🙂
You capture Alsace well, I would be jealous but they are heading into a grey winter and it is sunny and 35 here. Swings and roundabouts.
Thank you so much! 🙂
I really need to go there, looks beautiful!
It really is 😉
Your photos are amazing, I could just scroll through all your posts looking at them!!
Thank you so much! I enjoyed your post about drivers in Korea! 🙂
