Sleeping in a 20’s gypsy wagon? Next tick on your bucket list!

Les Folies de la Serve - Haut Beaujolais

[VERSIONE IN ITALIANO QUI]

Do you believe in magic? Some people still do, even when they grow up, and they hope they’llΒ find a place where magic rules.

…you may think those placesΒ don’t exist, but what if we told you we found one during our foodieΒ adventuresΒ in France?

It’s situated 1 hour from Lyon and 30 minutes from the town of Cluny and we are very happyΒ to show it to all of you, dear dreamers:

WELCOMEΒ toΒ les Folies del la Serve!

This enchanted place isΒ nestled in the middle of the hills and woods (LITERALLY!) of the Haut-Beaujolais region, it is a big house, where you can reserve an extraordinarily-decorated room, with aΒ detachedΒ bedroom and three old wagons, whichΒ are completely renovated.

As soon as we arrived, the lovely owner greeted us with a glass of wine and she showed us her beautiful place, her animals (goats, sheep, hens) and the part of the house that was at our complete disposal during our stay.

She then took us to the gypsy wagon we had reserved for the night…and we were simply ASTONISHED! The finishing, the details, the decorations…we also had a garden table outside, where we relaxed the whole afternoon!

Our wagon had a beautiful waiting room, with a table, two armchairs and 20’s-style furniture

and aΒ bedroom with a queen-size bed and stunning wooden furniture! Take a look at the photos! The details are incredible!

These are some pictures of the place outside our wagon…so peaceful! All of you hikers would love it!

The part of theΒ house that is reserved for guests has a dining area, a kitchen and a big terrace with tables and chairs. It also has bathrooms and showers, since you won’t find them in theΒ wagons. You won’t find WI-FI connection either, but it is available in the diningΒ area.

We can say the bed was very comfortable and breakfast…oh, breakfast! Tea, coffee, jam, butter…it was simply delicious!

We also took some photos at night time…the lights gave even a more spectacularΒ atmosphere!

Have you ever slept in a special place? Leave us your comment and share your tips, we want to hear from you!

  1. Slept in a caboose in Napa valley this summer. Cozy and fun. Wrote about it on my blog too. Next a gypsy wagon…or maybe a New York City cab. That’s really possible.
