When in Madrid: eating at Botin

[La versione in italiano di questo articolo la trovate QUI]

We visited Madrid in December, right before Christmas: it was an outstanding foodie experience! We’ll talk about it in another post, since here we want to dedicate an entire article to a fantastic place, which according to Guinness World Records is the oldest restaurant in the world: BOTIN restaurant!

As stated in its website: “the 1987 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records stated that in 1765, the adolescent Goya was employed at Botín as a dishwasher.”

You can totally breathe history inside this place! We ate on one of the upper floors, the place was fully booked! We decided to go for the House Menu (45,40 euros): garlic soup with egg, oven-baked baby pork, dessert, bread, wine and water. As desserts, we chose cheesecake and chocolate cake with red fruits. Here are the pictures: everything was fabulous!!!

Important tip: remember to book in advance if you don’t want to miss this place while in Madrid; we went on Friday to reserve and the first table was available on Sunday for lunch!
