The most beautiful wine town: Saint-Émilion!

“A remarkable example of a historical viticultural landscape that survived intact”: that’s how Unesco defines Saint-Émilion.

This French town is famous for its vineyards and great wines all over the world!

As soon as you arrive, you’re astonished by the hundreds of hectares of vineyards surrounding the village, as well as producers and châteaux as far as the eye can see!

The first thing we did was visiting the maison du vin, where we got the brochure with all the wineries in town. Of course, we couldn’t resist a tasting at one of the châteaux in town (we’ll talk about our lovely experience at Château Soutard in another post). We also visited the museum of wine, where you can test your “smell” with a nice game about wine.

The walk in the town is lovely: we visited the church with its beautiful cloister, the king tower, the monolithic church and its clock…don’t forget to walk down the narrow tertres (hillocks), the typical streets of the town…really enchanting!

And now the tasty part! We had a real foodie experience at L’Alcôve: amongst all the delicacies, the red wine entrecôte was SUPERB!
