When in Turin: street food for real foodies!

What’s the street food to try if you’re a foodie in Turin? We only had 6 hours…and here’s what we tasted that you really shouldn’t miss!

Caffé Al Bicerin

The place where Bicerin, Turin traditional drink, was born and named in the 18th century! A hot drink made of espresso coffee, chocolate and fresh whipped cream…an absolute must-try!

Grom

Grom is probably the most known ice-cream brand born in Turin and now spread all over the world, with stores in cities like NY, Paris and Tokyo. A must-eat? Their whipped cream!

Ghigo

We had a terrifically delicious hot chocolate and cream in this amazing place! Definitely something to taste if you are in this beautiful city!

M**Bun

“Slow fast food” as they call it! 100% fassone beef (Piedmont regional cow race), 100% regional products and ingredients, 100% Piedmont pop drinks, beers and wines! If you like row meat: Tris di carni crude is your dish! A taste of three mini tartares from their menu!

Mescé

Fruit is the word here! Smoothies, popsicles, sherbets, juices, and wraps! Must-try: Arrotolato! A mix of fruit, nuts, chocolate (but also vegetables and cheese) to try from the menu. We had a special one for “Salone del Gusto” with pineapple, radicchio and Brie cheese…sooooo good!

    1. Hello and thank you for your kind words! 🙂 As you said, it’s not easy to find “travel for food” blogs, but what we do is search under different tags, like “travel” and “food”…you’ll get a lot of inspiration and lovely ideas! 🙂 Happy to find another foodie on the road to follow! 🙂 Maple

  2. Wow. Regarding Bicerin — is the chocolate used on the thin side as in hot chocolate we are likely to encounter in the States or is melted chocolate used? Dark chocolate? Gotta know. This looks so good. I want to make some. thx.

    1. Hello Elizabeth! Very nice to meet you 🙂 I believe it’s melted dark chocolate! There are also some recipes with chocolate powder, but the authentic recipe is secret 🙂
